Splitting up with your husband or wife, or girlfriend, boyfriend, lover whatever you refer to him or her as, is hard! In fact, if you're reading this now, you'll probably be thinking "Yeah, that's the understatement of the century!"

It can feel like the end of the world, especially if your partner is the world to you & the break up is completely unsuspected. If you can't control that anger & go away & release it in your own way and if you instead direct this anger at your partner - you're just going to speed up the process of making them your ex partner. If your partner has made a decision, they will be instinctively looking for things which strengthen there belief that they made the right decision, as this is what the mind does - so by reacting with anger, you may as well just order up the divorce papers!

"Don't tell everyone". Of course you'll need to tell someone - but tell someone you trust not to spread the news, and do not tell everyone. One of the reasons your partner may not want to break up, is the pain of everyone finding out - if you tell everyone, or tell people who will tell everyone else, then this may make it harder for you to save the marriage / partnership, because once the news is "out there" your boyfriend / girlfriend, husband / wife may actually feel more pressure to NOT change his or her mind, now that everyone knows.
